[Mpls] Media Outlets too Pro-Union in Bus Strike?

A previous poster asks:   "Isn't it bothering you that every media
outlet in town, pretty much, seems to give the union a free pass and
isn't blaming them at all for this strike?"

Brandt:  I can't answer your question because  I don't have time to
take in every media outlet in town.  I'm impressed that this poster can
watch  simultaneous TV broadcasts on all stations, hear all radio
newscasts, read both metro dailies, the Minnesota Daily, all webcasts.
and all the community papers, including every suburban paper, to be
authoritative enough to make this judgment.  Most days I don't even make
it through all of my own paper. 

Another poster suggests that the strike is actually a walkout because
the "Met Council refused to negotiate further."  I've supervised union
preparations for a possible strike by the Star Tribune Guild unit
through several rounds of contract talks.  My understanding of a lockout
is that the employer tells employees not to report for work, and
prevents them from doing so.  In that case, workers would be eligible
for unemployment compensation.  I don't think that applies here.
