[Mpls] Buses

Once in a while I ride the bus downtown. If I worked downtown, I might
try to commute by bus. But I work at home and take the bus downtown for
meetings or appointments only when my car is unavailable. I noticed a
bus trip downtown takes about three times longer than a car trip, but it
is enjoyable to pass through city neighborhoods and enjoy the view from
the comparably lofty vantage point the bus provides.

I'm sure there is a politically correct position on this discussion, and
I don't think I'm on the correct side of the coin with regards to my
transport-of-last-resort bussing habits. And to further flaunt
political correctness, I confess that I actually enjoy the novelty of
taking a different transport mode on my occasional bus trips downtown.
(That is, I enjoy the ride once I am sure that the bus I am riding is
going reasonably near where I want to go.)

So it's nice to have buses available in my neighborhood even though I
hardly ever ride them. Plus, I have been impressed and pleased for
years at how quickly the city gets my alley plowed after snowstorms.
Busses and alley plowing - two nice amenities of city living. :)
