I just wanted to comment that one of the best demonstration displays in the 
city is the Rotary plot in Loring Park.  However, I'm guessing that as such 
it is not maintained by the park board.

It is a very beautiful and active garden, and maintained by the mpls park
board.  Last summer I had a number of discussions with the groundskeeper
there.  I don't remember her name, but she is very knowledgeable and happy
to share information.  There is a park building there that, as I understand
it, is horticultural rather than programming.  I do remember her saying she
wished more people were aware of this particular garden. It has wonderful
benches to just sit and appreciate the views as well as markers to identify
the individual plants.
