During the upcoming bus strike, if you find you need a ride to work or
somewhere else, simple go to the Met Council website at
www.metrocouncil.org.
Along the top row is an option 'About Us'. Clicking on that will give you
access to a drop down menu where you will click on 'Council Members'. Each
of the 16 current appointed Met Council members is listed along with their
phone number and the city they live in.
There is also a link on the Council Members homepage 'Council District
boundaries'. If you click on that link, it gives you a map of the metro
area with the appropriate District numbers.
Using the name and phone number information, you can then go to
www.anywho.com to get their home addresses.
Suppose you live in Plymouth and need to get to work in Northeast
Minneapolis. Simply call Roger Scherer and ask if he can stop by and pick
you up on his way to work. Or better yet, just show up to his house in the
morning and wait for a ride. In the afternoon, you would contact Lynette
Wittsack and I am sure that she would be happy to give you a ride back to
Plymouth.
Come on, quit complaining. It's not like we don't have other transportation
options and I am simply suggesting one that comes to mind.
