Cheers from Senator Higgins!
Introduced 2004 Senate Bill 2684 to provide that a variety of misdemeanor
traffic offenses do not constitute grounds for revocation or suspension of a
person's driver's license. Among these offenses are; failure to provide
proof of insurance, open bottle laws, failure to have a license in
possession and display it at the demand of law enforcement, driving with a
suspended license, driving after revocation, and driving after cancellation
(HF2875 Companion Bill).
Introduced 2004 Senate Bill 1908 to allow persons seeking to get their
driver's licenses reinstated after revocation for driving while impaired to
pay 25 percent of the normal fee to have their license reinstated for one
year, another 25 percent of the normal fee to have it reinstated for a
second year and so forth as long as they are otherwise qualified for
reinstatement.
