Folks, I think we can guarantee that the Commissioner will have an opponent.
For progressives out there, he will not be easy to bounce. He's well liked
by an awful lot of people in the district and has great name recognition.

Subject: [Mpls] Endorsements in NE Minneapolis
I share Bruce's frustration over not having a DFL or otherwise progressive
candidate running against Mark Stenglein last time. Unfortunately, no one
decided to run against Mark and no one contacted the county party asking for
the endorsement. As much as I wish we could, the party cannot draft a
candidate who is unwilling to run. This was the first time in memory where
no one sought the party endorsement for this commissioner's seat and we will
be doing everything we can to ensure this situation doesn't recur.
