Vigil on Monday, November 8

Dear Friends,

Last night a young man was shot and killed on the 3200 block of North 6th Street, in the McKinley neighborhood. The victim was shot to death after pulling his car over to speak with a group of people standing on the corner. Someone standing in that group shot repeatedly into the car, committing the City's 45th homicide in 2004.

Traditionally, we have held vigils within 48 hours of the act of violence. However, Council Member Samuels is very ill with the flu. In light of that, and also with consideration to the presidential election, the vigil will be held next week on Monday, November 8th.

Please join us as we attempt to be a light in the darkness of this continued, senseless violence.

What: Vigil for the City's most recent victim to gun violence

When: Monday, November 8th, 2004
          10am to 6pm

Where: 6th St. North, just North of Lowry Avenue (3200 block of 6th St. N.)

Please call if you have any questions or need clarification.

In peace,

Laura Wolff
Council Member Samuels' office
Minneapolis' Third Ward
