[Mpls] Mpls police falling for urban legends?

I just got a notice from my church administrator (University Lutheran
Church of Hope in SE Minneapolis) that the Minneapolis Police Department
just sent out a notice to turn off cell phones when you are pumping gas,
because of the danger of explosion.  I am not sure what's going on in the
MPD, but snopes.com (among other debunkers) points out that thorough
investigation of these incidents have pretty well placed the blame on other
sources--the cell phone stuff comes from untrained passers-by.  Trained
investigators say, "Nope." 

I'm not saying you SHOULD be yakking away on the phone.  I am saying this
is a debunked urban legend that doesn't need passing along and more.
