[Mpls] Assault On Democracy

The thing I'm confused about in all of this is how it's grossly unfair to
the voters in areas that are being redistricted. I mean if you're current
council-person is going to be your former council persson, wouldn't you have
a future council person as well? It all seems like much-ado-about nothing
to me.
I'm trying to visualize calling my council member (Don Samuels) on an issue
and having him me ask me where I lived, only to hear him reply that he's
sorry, but he can't help me, as I won't be in his ward after next year.
Heck, on the brighter-side it might even make more council-members more
receptive to the needs of a wider range of voters. If you're a
council-member contemplating re-election, the last thing you want to do is
seem unreceptive to voters that MIGHT be in your ward the next time you run
for re-election :-)
