[Mpls] Lawn signs

It's as regular as Minnesota mosquitoes =97 community newspaper editors=20=

getting calls from both sides insisting that lawn signs are being=20
trashed.. by only one side.

I can tell you that short of personal injury being inflicted, there's=20
no story here. Honestly, ever year, the charges fly from all sides, in=20=

about equal measure.

As for their purpose: Connie is right, they can be to increase name=20
recognition of political unknowns. However =97 though I doubt anyone=20
would admit this =97 many voters "follow the leader" and are subtly=20
influenced by a profusion of them.

Also, signs have the potential to enthuse the base (if they see them=20
all about) and it's important to maintain enthusiasm during a campaign.
