We're planning a couple of Southwest Journal stories for November we
could use your help with...please respond offlist, though, because I
suspect this sort of thing could drown the list.
We're looking for two types of input:
1. We'd like some nominations for the most "car-rageful" spots in
Southwest - the places that are most frustrating to you as a driver.
The borders of our "rage zone" are Glenwood Ave to the north, I-35W to
the east, Crosstown to the south and France Ave to the west. They
include Lowry Hill, Stevens Square, the Wedge but not Loring Park.
2. We're also looking for embarrassing car tales you can tell on
yourself. The time you drove one friggin' block for a Tombstone Pizza.
That time you let your 4-year-old sit in the driver's seat and he let
loose the parking brake. Just dumb or funny car-related things you've
done. Doesn't have to have happened in Southwest, but in Mpls if it at
all possible.
Thanks for the help,
David Brauer

Dumbest car story: driving off to my very first no-chaperone car date,
I'd made it about one block before I got nervous I hadn't released the
parking brake. So I bent over to check (the release was by my left
foot) and promptly veered into a telephone poll at about 10 mph. Never
ended up going on a date with the girl.
