Here are results from the Minneapolis Central Committee Meeting held tonight.

There were 56 voting delegates or upgraded alternates, plus 14 visitors,
for a total of 70 at the meeting. Two candidates, Sharon Henry-Blythe and
Dennis Shapiro were present, with signs and campaign literature to pass out.

A motion was made to proceed to an endorsement for the 3rd open spot on the
Minneapolis School Board. Discussed at length, with many people speaking
for or against the motion. Vote was counted carefully, with voters
standing and counting off as they were counted. Result was:
For doing an enodrsement	22 votes, 39%
Against doing an endorsement	26 votes, 46%
	Abstain (didn't vote) 8 votes, 14%
So the motion failed, and no endorsement vote was done.

A second item of business was a resolution asking the City Council to
ignore the request by Gov. Pawlenty to change City Ordinances to allow
police officers to request more information on immigration status from
people they are questioning. (I don't have the exact wording.) After much
discussion, the resolution passed with no recorded nay votes.

Tim Bonham, City DFL Treasurer
