[Mpls] Monitoring kids' schoolwork online

A colleague is interested in "Parent Portals," online tools for parents to monitor their children's schoolwork.  He's seeking parents' experiences with this in various school districts, including Minneapolis.  If you've tried this as a parent, did it work for you?
