[Mpls] Eat your Elm Trees

I had beautiful Toka plum trees planted on my boulevard in an  effort to do 
my part to plant an edible landscape in Minneapolis. For  the ten or so years 
they lasted they provided not only tons  of delicious plums but fabulous 
blossoms in spring, crimson colors in fall  and much needed shade on my front 
windows in summer. 
 
Then the Park Board decided that they interfered with the motorists  that 
parked at the curb and had them removed. Needless to say I was heart  broken. 
Edible landscaping is an important eco-tactic and I hope and pray  it will catch 
on. Please no more decorative Elms and such.
