Wendy Wilde has a great show. She does, as you say, work hard to cover a variety of topics with good research and knowledgeable guests. She is terrific.
 
Nick Coleman's show was an entirely different format, with humor and hyperbole, more suited to drive time. His show, like his column, reflected his personality. His knowledge of twin cities people, politics, social and religious issues is decades deep, and he is fearless in calling it as he sees it. Apparently the station negotiated a contract with him, then cancelled it, without offering any alternative explanation to his.
 
The NY pair who replaced his time slot are similar in style to him, sometimes more outrageous, but just not of interest to me since there is no local flavor.
