Mr Cutting is dead wrong about elm trees. Many grow as high as 100 feet  
tall. In my lifetime (75 years) I've seen homes literally split in half by huge  
elm trees. They are a menace to the gardener. Try pulling a young  seedling out 
by the root sometime. There are many variety of elms and some  are from 
Europe. I would much prefer apple blossoms, plum blossoms and the fruit  they bring 
to the over planted elm trees.
