David Motzenbecker is ( or at least the last time I knew) a Kingfield 
resident.
David is also one of the folks who serves on the Planning Commission as one 
of the Mayor's appointees.

Tara Beard is the staff person on the Planning Commission who prepared the 
staff report related to 24 hours/flexible hours for shelters. She did an 
excellent report, presenting what I believe was an objective overview of the issue. 
Of course I am pleased that, once that overview was completed, that the staff 
recommended approval of the revision of the ordinance.

I am proud that David is another Kingfielder who is an actively involved 
citizen. And of course proud that he voted to approve moving the shelter ordinance 
revision so it could move on to the City Council for final approval.

David also, particularly during my time as a member of the Kingfield 
Neighborhood Association Board, taught us all a great deal about the damage inherent 
in too much asphalt, too many parking lots in our city and the need to build 
plannfully and with the long term interests of our City Neighborhoods, not just 
immediate demands or requests.

He also has been responsible, along with others on the Board, for moving 
forward on addressing affordable housing issues, to try to make more available in 
Kingfield.

Sometimes the diligent hard work of folks such as David and Tara get 
overlooked. But their work is the unglamorous stuff that makes our city better.
