Thanks for asking, Carol.

I'd be more impressed if you were refusing such contributions not because of what others might
think, but because it's the right thing to do.  It appears we disagree on whether acceptance of
such contributions is a significant conflict of interest.

As Commissioner, I'll denounce accepting such contributions.  As current Commissioner and Chair of
the Standards and Conduct Committeee you should be a standard bearer for high ethical standards on
the entire Park Board.  On this and other questions relating to ethics, conduct and process,
you've remained silent.

Scott Vreeland I and are collaborating on a Code of Conduct for Commissioners that will set higher
standards of ethical behavior.  At a later date, we'll circulate it for public dialog.

There are some simple remedies to restore public trust in this office.  I've got the energy and
committment to speak up for what's right.
