Doug Mann says: The total K-12 student enrollment for schools owned and
run by the district
in the Fall of 2004 was only 26, 035. The breakdown: K-5: 12,394, 6-8:
3,778
9-12: 9863 -- Source, Minneapolis Public Schools web site

Brandt: I don't think you are correct, Doug. I went to the same site
and here's what I found for 10-1-04 district-owned school K-12
enrollment: K-5: 10,648; K-8: 12,394; Middle school: 3,778; High
school: 9,863. Plus 548 in district special ed schools. TOTAL: 37,231.
That's without the 867 kids in district-run alternative schools, some of
which are in district buildings, or the 1,842 in contract alternative
schools, or 234 in medical or incarceration education programs.
