[Mpls] RE: Should the Mpls Schools be operating a radiostation?

Perhaps the best answer to the question would come from the people involved,
students and others who would be most affected. An unbiased assessment of
the program's contributions, success/or failures, could better identify its
value. Perhaps I missed them, but I don't remember any comments along that
line.

If this is a program worth saving, the folks on this list alone should be
able to influence MnDOT's decision, or raise the money to support the
program from other sources (MnDOT picking up a share with funding partners).

Is it not possible to find ways to raise additional funds to help make up

budget so that less money is needed?

In case anyone missed Scott Vreeland's post yesterday, here's who you can
contact to complain:

Contact MnDOT: Commissioner Carol Molnau: commissioner at dot.state.mn.us or
651-296-3000; Marthland Nooklala, traffic safety and technology:
marthland.nooklal at dot.state.mn.us or 651-296-1615

at North is that it integrates the academic courses with the radio
curriculum. In some ways, it is a great way to get the students who are not
interested in academic subjects to pay more attention to things like
English, science and math. Courses like "Writing for Radio" (e.g. an
English writing course) and "Reading and pronunciation for radio" (e.g.
public speaking) integrate the radio and academic sides of North High.
