[Mpls] Bill Hinkley and Judy Larsen

Yesterday during the afternoon there was an amazingly wonderful event.  There 
was a benefit at the Cedar Cultural Center to help out a local legend and  
musician Bill Hinkley pay some hospital bills. Within this crowd of  aging 
hippies and dancing children there was incredible support for   that dynamic duo of 
Bill Hinkley and Judy Larson. The place was packed and the  music was superb. 
But this was a lot more than that. This was a celebration of  the stellar 
pillars of our community that play music. It was a potluck where  lots of folks 
brought great food and great music.
 
 It was also a musical tribute to that magical thing that musicians do  when 
they play for free to promote a cause or help out a friend. Making a living  
as a musician is so difficult and even those with considerable fame don't  have 
it easy. Starting a 10 person jug band is probably not the  first thing a 
financial advisor would suggest as a way to get rich.
 
So thanks to all the people who showed up, Dakota Dave Hull, Bob  Bovie, 
Charlie Maguire,
Spider John Koerner, Willie Murphy, Doug Anderson, The Geezers, Sorry  
Muthas, Becky Reimer, Tommy Ray, Butch Thomsom, Andrew Cadilac Kolstad,   East Lake 
Hot Club with Papa John Kolstad, Larry Long, and many more who played  and 
donated CD's.
And thanks to Bill Hinkley and Judy Larson for playing.
 
On this cold day in Minnesota the place heated up pretty good.
  
 
One of the great things about this city is Bill Hinkley.
