      I've got to agree that ceding Mpls Parks land in any fashion is not 
good.
      We've got a similar situation brewing at East River Flats Park, 
adjacent to the U of MN Health Campus. They are poised to let the U take over a great 
deal of that park at the old Centennial Showboat Landing for rowing 
facilities; it doesn't look as though the public would get as much access to the U's 
latest encroachment on the city as they would at DeLaSalle. We lose that access 
and get more impermeable surface at the river to boot.
