[Mpls] Street Sign Colors

This reminds me, what is the meaning behind the different colored street 
signs?  Minneapolis is the only city that I can think of off hand with them? 
Does it mean something like this :

    blue = main through street
    green = general street
    brown = dead end street

I thought there was a system to them based on the colors.  Thank you!
