34.33  (a) Midtown Exchange Project                          5,000,000
 34.34  For a grant to the city of Minneapolis 
 34.35  to acquire land and to predesign, 
 34.36  design, renovate, construct, furnish, 
 34.37  and equip public infrastructure 
 34.38  improvements at the site of the former 
 34.39  Sears store near Chicago and Lake 
 34.40  Streets as part of the Midtown Exchange 
 34.41  project. 
 34.42  (b) Colin Powell Youth Leadership Center              2,000,000
 34.43  For a grant to Hennepin County to 
 34.44  acquire land for and to design, 
 34.45  construct, furnish, and equip the Colin 
 34.46  Powell Youth Leadership Center in 
 34.47  Minneapolis, subject to Minnesota 
 34.48  Statutes, section 16A.695.  The center 
 34.49  may include a National Guard drill 
 34.50  area, an education wing, including a 
 34.51  computer lab, a multipurpose arts 
 34.52  facility, a community education space, 
 34.53  a nutrition education and cooking 
 34.54  skills work-preparation area, and new 
 34.55  basketball courts. 
 34.56  This appropriation is not available 
 34.57  until the commissioner has determined 
 34.58  that all funds necessary to complete 
 34.59  the project are committed from nonstate 
 35.1   sources. 
 35.2   (c)  Lowry Avenue Corridor -         
 35.3   Phase 1                                               1,500,000
 35.4   For a grant to Hennepin County for 
 35.5   Phase I capital improvements to the 
 35.6   Lowry Avenue corridor from Girard 
 35.7   Avenue North to the I-94 bridge in 
 35.8   Minneapolis. 
 35.9   (d) Minnesota Planetarium                            24,000,000
 35.10  For a grant to the city of Minneapolis 
 35.11  to complete design and to construct, 
 35.12  furnish, and equip a new Minnesota 
 35.13  planetarium location in conjunction 
 35.14  with the Minneapolis downtown library.  
 35.15  (e) Minnesota Shubert Center                         10,000,000
 35.16  For a grant to the city of Minneapolis 
 35.17  to construct, furnish, and equip an 
 35.18  associated atrium to create the 
 35.19  Minnesota Shubert Center.  The city of 
 35.20  Minneapolis may enter into a lease or 
 35.21  management agreement to operate the 
 35.22  center, subject to Minnesota Statutes, 
 35.23  section 16A.695.
