This article "Minneapolis officials announce crime initiatives":
   http://startribune.com/stories/462/5485449.html

... reminded me that crime has actually stopped in Minneapolis, at least enough
to stop publicly releasing statistics on the city website:
   http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/police/crime-statistics/

Does anyone know when the police department will start putting this important
information back online? And why isn't closer to real-time crime blotter
information available online?

Check out this "citizen" website that enhances combines city provided Chicago
crime data with Google maps: http://www.chicagocrime.org
