Keith says; Thanks Dyna; you are right in your observation and conclusion.
Legions of young, and not so young, black folks roamin' : Gang baited, and
filling the mean streets, avenues, porches and alleys. They can't find jobs,
and
for so many reasons. But the sum of all the reasons equals a phenomena. The
sum
of all the reasons equals a micro-version of the Great Depression, at Dyna's
doorstep. Her doorstep, and world, is a stage. But Dyna, rightfully, doesn't
appreciate all the drama that accompanies this "labor mini-series".
Ironically, this student of labor history, Dyna, gets to relive the
Depression Era 24/7, but now it is coked-up. As the unrooted and homeless,
poor and
illiterate, mentally ill and criminally mentallly ill, medicated and
unmedicated,
group up to hustle a next meal, or next high. As they prepare for the next
grimy, or grim, crime of opportunity, and stealth; selling a rock, or bag, on
26th Avenue seems more like fun and games to them. They are angry; and they
are
many. An army, doing field exercises, day and night, at Dyna's doorstep. It
is
no wonder Dyna can't sleep.
The wonder is the continued slumber of the political elite, and those City
residents outside the siege neighborhoods, but this is not new. I marveled,
and
fretted, and railed, in 1986. Same deal; different millennium.
As a side show, I still wonder at Dyna's dogged support of the DFL Machine
dogma, coupled with her disdain for the DFL Leaders.
Hate the sinners; but love the sin. Go figger.
PS: Does her absolute silence mean Dyna is not interested in positive
participation in the West Broadway Area Coalition, and proactive, team,
problem
solving? She is still invited to participate. Unlike DT, we want to hear her
opinions.
