I agree with Dean. I have an old Chris Coleman sign from when Chris ran for City Council in Saint Paul and after he won the DFL endorsement, I immediately put it up.
Now I hear that Andy Dawkins, head of St. Paul Enforcement, (and former State Rep. who I used to put lawn signs up for), has threatened people who put up lawn signs before the "legal" start date and specifically called the Coleman campaign. I believe these laws are unconstitutional and the Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, would clearly lose.
My Chris Coleman sign is up and if anyone from the Kelly Administration wishes to issue me a ticket for an "illegal lawn sign" I will be happy to contest it.

"Meanwhile, Samuels is also catching some flak for putting out his lawn
signs along the Juneteenth parade route two weeks ago, well before the
date allowed by law (August 15). Guest said that the campaign had
received conflicting information on the date those signs could be
unveiled. Those signs have since been removed, he noted"
Dean Here:
I have a problem with this ordinance. Political speech is protected by
the first amendment (ask the MPRB!) and I don't see how the City can
regulate the time when someone can articulate their support for a
candidate via a sign on their property. Also there are numerous Dennis
Tift signs scattered throughout the 8th Ward, with no one complaining.
My advice to Don Samuels -- keep the signs up and make the City defend
this obviously unconstitutional ban in a court of law.
