If we were trying to be elitist we wouldn't have bothered to even have caucuses this year.  In past seasons, the presidential delegates stood in for the off year city convention and no new people were included, NONE.  We wanted an open process in the off year this time around, to build energy at the grassroots, so now we are having a caucus, this is a major step forward.  This is a completely new phenomena for city politics, it adds real competition to the races.  We have debates and campaigning as a result and people are engaged.

I disagree with your post.
