Either I am not alert enough, or I'm so honked off that I can't talk
without stepping into that spot we all face periodically, making a
jackass of myself. I try always to walk away. Looks more like stomping
out, but looks are deceiving.
I thought the DFL were very kind to me when I ran for public office.
They treated me well.
I don't consider myself a party insider. I just do the citizen thing
like they taught me in the 3rd or 4th grade. (The nuns were big on that.)
When I lost the election I wanted to be honked off at someone besides
me, but there just was no one there to blame other than that woman in
the mirror in the bathroom. As far as I'm concerned, with any
organization, if it's important enough, you stay in the mix and learn
how to debate the issues and how to apply the gentle art of persuasion.
