Dean makes some good points about a referendum.
Personally I am opposed to any taxpayer funded stadium, and I think the only reason a referendum on this proposal is a 'deal breaker' is the Twins and County Board know what the results will be. The idea that it will cause delays and cost increases is true, but being used as a cover up for the real reason of no referendum.
We've been through this debate ad infinitem ever since I moved to MN. Obviously the Twins think they can win by not giving up. I have said NO and will continue to say NO to any form of taxpayer funded stadium.

Last week I asked the forum what we gain from building a new stadium that we do not now have? Is that gain equal or greater than our investment? What does Carl stand to gain? Is that gain equal or greater than his investment? Anyone want to try and take that on?

The bottom line is that everyone wants to have a referendum when they are
against something and are against a referendum when they are for it. The
lack of a referendum has nothing to do with the merit or legitimacy of the
proposal.
