"Despite hours of bitter debate, local government aid cuts of $28 million to
Minneapolis and St. Paul remained in the bill, as did a proposal that would
allow a minority of property owners to trigger levy referenda via postcard,
and a proposed $66 million reduction of the renters' credit.
Mpls. and St. Paul legislators complaining that reductions that would result
in hundreds of police and fire fighters layoffs."

(http://www.startribune.com/stories/587/5398886.html) House bill that passed.
So given no other choice, maybe we should impose a 5% sales tax increase in
Minneapolis to build a police force that could stop the criminal activity
going on at the State Capitol.
It is just so hard to really understand how we have elected officials in
Minnesota that want to specifically harm the poor.
If this bill becomes law it will be just devastating to our Library, Parks,
and City.
Thanks,
Scott Vreeland Seward
