Come on Friday, May 20th to help show that violence and crime will not carry
the day in North MPLS.

Starting at 7:00 PM concerned citizens will begin to gather at 26th Avenue
N. at the Church of St. Philip (Bryant Avenue North) and at Jordan New Life
Community Church (Newton Avenue North and 26th AVE). We will then line the
length of that troubled AVE to say NO to the violence that has plagued our
community and to begin to usher in PEACE SUMMER 2005.

We will then converge back to the block 26th AVE N between Irving and James
where an inspired group of youth will lead a program that will include
spoken work and music in celebration.

Many Twin City houses of faith, organizations, businesses, neighborhood
groups and individuals are joining and YOU are needed too to join the
community to stand with us on the street in North Minneapolis.

Some of the groups that are planning to turn out are:
Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church (N. Mpls.), Church of the Open Door
(Maple Grove), St. John’s Episcopal Church (S.W. Mpls.), Ascension Church
(N. Mpls.), Westminster Presbyterian Church (downtown Mpls.), Holding Forth
the Word (N. Mpls.), Christ the King Church (S.W. Mpls.), Shiloh Temple (N.
Mpls.), St. Joan of Arc Church (S. Mpls.), the Minneapolis Council of
Churches, the Jordan and Hawthorne Area Community Councils and the Twin
Cities Million Moms.

Over 1000 righteous souls are needed that evening on the Northside ~ make
sure you are one of them.

If you are interested in bringing your own group to help stand up for safe
streets, our families, our youth and our future please go to:
http://www.citypeace.org/summer/northside.html and sign up.

Folks are strongly urged to car pool to this historic event. Some parking
is available in the two parking lots at Nellie Stone Johnson School at
Bryant and 16th AVE N. and Bryant and 27th AVE N.

Please help spread the word by forwarding this message on to all that may be
interested.
