Bottom line is that irregardless of the anti-stadium folks rants and raves,
many, many people DO support a stadium, will hold their elected official
accountable if a ballpark is NOT built, and care very deeply that Twins are
a community resource that should be supported.

Jenny Here: Please do not misread nor misquote me. I am not opposed to a sports stadium. I
am not opposed to the Twins. I am not opposed to baseball.

I AM opposed to a sports stadium that is built with my tax dollars, and yours for that
matter, for the greater enrichment of one individual and their heirs, especially when the
'deal' involves circumventing state law around holding a referendum. A stadium that will
have initial and then on-going infrastructure, maintenance and environmental costs
associated with it that will be additionally born by the residents, and only the
residents, of Minneapolis.

I do not understand why in a state that has a rich history of ethnic, social and political
egalitarianism, we do not talk about COMMUNITY ownership of such COMMUNITY sports assets
and resources. What I dream of seeing is a stadium built where every citizen is a
stakeholder in the success of that community asset as well as a beneficiary.

Where is Phyllis Kahn when we need her to once again expound on her previously stated
ideas about how community ownership of a sports team and its venue might be feasible?
