On a rare break from the Teller Room, I went to the floor, and in
passing saw someone yelling & screaming at Council Member Samuels. I
didn't recognize the person; and my thought was that the delegates were
getting really testy up there, and that it was safer down in the Teller Room!
But such verbal assault is, I believe, technically within the
legal definition of "assault" -- or, at least, "creating a public
disturbance". He could have been charged with such a crime. Instead, he
was simply asked to leave.
By the way, Mr. Flowers was not an elected DFL delegate entitled
to be seated at this convention; he was a guest at the convention. (So,
really, he shouldn't have been on the floor at all, he should have been in
the visitor seating.)
