The Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA) understands what an impact a good teacher can have on a child's life. That is why this year MELSA & KS95 (FM 94.5 radio) would like to say thank you to teachers who go above and beyond the call of duty to help our kids be successful in school and for the future.
Nominate a teacher (link is listed below) and if the teacher is chosen, KS95 will personally recognize the teacher on air Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. with Greg & Cheryl, and deliver a Teacher of the Week engraved plaque to the teacher's school/classroom. All the teachers who are chosen in teacher of the week will also participate in a luncheon at the end of the school year wherein one teacher's name will be randomly drawn to win $1,000 cash for herself/himself and $1,000 for their school.
MELSA, established in 1969, is a multi-jurisdictional federation of the city and county public libraries in the metropolitan Twin City area organized to provide cooperative services and cost saving programs to the participants. Minneapolis Public Library is an active member of MELSA.
The seven-county metropolitan Twin Cities service area contains more than 52% of the state's population and has over 104 public service buildings, plus bookmobiles.
MELSA includes: Anoka County Library, Carver County Library System, Dakota County Library System, Hennepin County Library, Minneapolis Public Library, Ramsey County Public Library, Saint Paul Public Library, Scott County Library System, and Washington County Library.

I encourage Minneapolis residents and parents to nominate outstanding teachers from the Minneapolis Public Schools. A great way recognize hard working and dedicated teachers in our school system.
Together the Minneapolis Public Library and Minneapolis Public Schools can help students read and succeed!
Thank you,
