Does anyone want to look at ALL the factors in this primary or do we just want to focus on race? Why doesn't this article mention the fact that there were 10 candidates in the race all trying to get their message out? Why doesn't it mention the fact that Hauser, Glidden and Dennis Tifft seriously out raised Hayden in campaign funds? Or that labor and name recognition played a part in boosting Hauser? Or that Glidden is from King Field and that she got a big boost from the vote totals in those two precincts?

 

I would never say that there wasn't a racial component to the race, but to say that it was the primary factor in Hayden's loss doesn't tell the whole story.
