In its "general guidance" to primary voting, the Strib bold-faces plenty of
names for the Sept. 13 Council and Library Board primaries ... and has some
interesting omissions.

Open Council seats:

Ward 2: Gordon and Letofsky. Honorable mention to Yussef; a dis to Lischeid.
Ward 3: Hofstede ("a shoo-in to move up") and Neumann
Ward 8: Glidden and Hayden get the first sentence; Hauser sort of an
honorable mention along with Bellfield. Tifft and others omitted.
Ward 10: Bernard and Persons get the raves; Noble the honorable mention and
Remington gets the most explicit dis.
Ward 13: All three judged qualified, but McDonald's name is mentioned first,
followed by Hodges and Hohmann.

Library Board:

Interestingly, incumbents Savran and Krueger get the dis; Duckor, Waterman
Wittstock, Thaden and Mains get the gold stars; Hooker, Bryson, Grambsch and
Deyo get silvers. All former or current librarians, save Hooker, get the
back of the Strib's editorial page hand.
