MINNEAPOLIS CITIZENS FOR PARK BOARD REFORM ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS FOR
MINNEAPOLIS PARK & RECREATION BOARD

Minneapolis, Minn. - Minneapolis Citizens for Park Board Reform are proud to
announce their Park Board commissioner endorsements for the 2005 election to
be held November 8.

"Minneapolis residents deserve Park Commissioners who will focus on the
fundamentals of park stewardship. We deserve a Park Board that is
accountable. We deserve a Park Board which will operate transparently. We
deserve no less," said co-founder Michael Guest.

More than 15 million citizens utilize our Park system, a system which has
evolved over the past 120 years. At one time, it was regarded among the
best park systems in the nation. Sadly, the parks are in serious decline.
We need a new and better Park Board.

According to co-founder, Paul Stepnes, "The Park Board has wasted money on
questionable projects at a time when services are being cut back. In this
election year when they discontinued the Jump In brochure of youth summer
activities because of money shortages, it's amazing they can a find money to
hire a public relations staffer. Where are their priorities?"

Minneapolis Citizens for Park Board Reform endorses the following candidates
as Park Board commissioners who can turn around the decline, who will honor
the principles of stewardship, accountability and transparency.

District 1: LuAnn Wilcox

District 2: no endorsement

At-large: Rochelle Berry Graves

District 3: Scott Vreeland

At-large: Tom Nordyke

District 4: Tracy Nordstrom

At-large: Annie Young

District 5: Jason Stone

District 6: Jim Bernstein

The mission of Minneapolis Citizens for Park Board Reform is to educate
Minneapolis voters about park issues, and to elect reform-minded Park Board
commissioners.

We endorse candidates who support transparency, fiscal accountability,
environmental stewardship, and who will fight for the preservation of our
historic park system.
