[Mpls] According to Marie Hauser

To be fair to Marie Hauser (who I would not be supporting if I lived in the Eighth Ward), she said that she was picturing those two park board candidates as they were all Labor endorsed candidates, not as three DFL endorsed candidates. The "game" as Dorie Rae puts it is in trying to figure out the meaning of having those pictures side by side and also the difference between DFL and DFLer.
I believe it is the intent of those who list DFL member and DFLer, to confuse the issue with regard to whether a candidate is endorsed or not. I agree that only endorsed candidates should be allowed to use the name of their political party on literature and campaign signage, but Minnesota statute and the courts do not agree. As long as the law is on the side of those wanting to use their self-professed politcal affiliation in their advertising, there's nothing anyone can do.

I would hope that the parties look into this type of campaigning. If someone
is NOT
endorsed...they really should not be putting themselves along side of the
endorsed
candidates on political lit. This gives a very unclear message for the
masses who do
not follow the political vein.
I am beginning to think nonendorsed candidates need to clearly state party
status..
and how many people in the masses know the difference between...DFL or
DFLer?
Or is that the game?
