[Mpls] RE: Board Dirty Campaign Tactics

The point is that a former Park Board commissioner setting up lawn signs
for an incumbent Park Board commissioner should know that erecting
political signs on park property is unlawful! =20

The rest of us play by the rules; oftentimes it would be a lot easier
and make the lawn sign a lot more visible if it was put on a park board
owned boulevard rather than in a yard with lots of bushes, landscaping,
and a retaining wall - but we don't! =20

While this may be a more of a molehill than a mountain, the flagrant
disregard for a simple, well known rule follows a common theme of Bob
Fine's term on the Park Board - ignore the rules if they don=92t serve
your agenda.

I'm not sure what it means. I am surprised that the improper =20
placement of a sign falls under the general rubric of "dirty campaign =20
tactics." In this case, it makes the poster appear a bit petty and =20
making a mountain out of a molehill.

Out of curiosity, does this really advance the case of Minneapolis =20
Park Watch? From my perspective MPW's web site has a lot more =20
disturbing issues identified than this ... but the overall =20
credibility gets frittered away with this kind of thing.

Now if there were numerous signs incorrectly placed or if the =20
candidate(s) complained about their opponents' signs placements while =20
placing theirs incorrectly, you might have a more legitimate issue. =20
But for now it just looks, well, childish.
