The question to Czar or not to Czar brings up an interesting
point. Personally, whatever monies are available in a budget
labeled ART...I would like to see go directly to artists
living and working in the city for projects within the city.
It was pointed out that there was money in a budget for the Czar..
money readily available. For how long? Would it not
be great to have a project instead of a salary, of course, a bronzed
Czar might be nice! * I have been told*...that the CLIC report stated
that too much money was being spent on administration and not
enough for projects from the Arts Commission. True or False..?
I do not know...so maybe it is time for some great city art projects
to come forth ....instead of a salary till death do us part...thank you
very much...they could do a take off of WPA visual 2/3 dimensional
art projects involving a collaboration of several local artists around
the city....
