PRIMARY CANDIDATES FOR County 5th District Commissioner and Sheriff
candidates on September 6, 2006.
The League of Women Voters, Winona Unit is co-sponsoring a candidate forum
on September 6, 2006, with the American Association of University Women.
County 5th District Commissioner and Sheriff candidates have all indicated
they will attend.
The LWV invites the public to participate in this forum. Written questions
to the candidates will be generated from the audience in attendance. The
primary candidate forum will be on Wednesday September 6, 2006 for the
County primary races. The forum begins at 7:00 PM in the council chambers
of the Winona City Hall, 4th and Lafayette Streets in Winona. The forum
will be broadcast live on the government access cable TV Channels for
Charter and HBCI. Radio and newspaper media are also invited. During the
televised forum, a telephone line to call in questions will be available.
After the Primary election, General election candidate forums are planned in
early October, for local seats in the Legislative Senate Districts 28 & 31,
Legislative House District, 28B & 31A, County Commissioners, Sheriff, City
of Winona and the Winona Area Public Schools. Watch for future new releases
on dates and location.
The League of Women Voters, Winona Unit, Womens Resource Center of Winona,
the American Association of University Women, Winona Area PTA Council and
Winona On-Line Democracy encourage all voters to go and vote on the Primary
Election Day, September 12th, 2006. Absentee ballot and or voter
registration information is available from the Winona County Auditors
Office, Winona County Government Center, and First Floor, at 177 Main
Street, Winona, MN.
