I recently attended a professional drama presentation (The Great Gatsby) and realized I havent been in Winona a whole lot lately so I havent had the opportunity to see the the economic impact I may be missing from the GRSF this summer. I am certain I will be attacked again for questioning this, but, what the heck, someone has to ask.
Are there any hospitality business owners/employees who could give us an informal opinion on the economic impact the GRSF has had on their work so far this year? How about gas station/convenience store employees? Have you had people coming in and commenting on their experience at GRSF as they paid for the tank they just filled? Waiters/bartenders? Any noticeable difference in your customer flow? Hotel/Innkeepers? rooms sold you can attribute to the GRSF?
I am serious about this inquiry and hope we can keep this civil( myself included) and have no threats of lawsuits this time. All I want to know, from the man/woman on the street, in the trenches, if they have noticed a benefit to them or their respective business. I've been told ticket sales have been high and am wondering( withoout attacking this time) what the feeling is on the econmic impact.
Anybody have an opinion/example/story to share?
Sincerely,
C.E. Woodford
