Where is your $325,000 figure coming from, Paul?

I forgot the extra $15,000 from the CVB

$250,000 New State Funding
$75,000 Port Authority WDN 12.21.04 article
$15,000 Convention & Visitors Bureau 12.21.04 article
$340,000 Total Public Investment to date

Until Healthcare, Roads, Nursing Homes, K-12 Education are funded adequately
any public investment in GRSF is in my opinion beyond reasonable rolls of
government at all levels. And while some may feel they are under taxed the
Minnesota rankings against the other 49 states would tell most we are not.
When a city government has surplus money to divert into such things as GRSF,
Port Authority or not, it has too much taxpayers money.

If the council believes there is consensus on spending funds for the GRSF
then let's put it to a vote with the option of raising property taxes to
fund it. The state money removes the connection of the peoples purse verses
endless pot of gold in St. Paul or Washington and furthers the cause of pork
for the locals.
