It is interesting that "a better society" has now become a closed issue for
discussion. It is also interesting that in a recent study Republicans
contribute voluntarily more than Democrats which supports your statement
that some Democrats must be "just plain too selfish"

Do you really think a discussion of this topic is worthwhile?

The alleged benefits of tax cuts are an article of faith on the right. No
study
or research or data will ever move the discussion in one direction or the
other. Liberals need to give up on trying to convert their opposition and
just
go ahead and do what they think is best. You just plain can't get something
for nothing (or even more for less) and anyone who wants to argue that point
is
just plain waisting my time. There is a cost to developing a better society
and some people are just plain too selfish to contribute voluntarily.
That's
life. Some people will need to be dragged kicking and screaming into that
better society or we risk allowing them to drag us back into the middle
ages.

The tremendous Liberal advances of the past 200 years are too valuable for
us to
spend time squabbling over perspective. The direction is forward, full
steam
ahead.
