Speaking for myself, I would welcome a discussion of what the requirements
for becoming a legal immigrant should be. It is possible either the
requirements or the process need revision. That in no way changes the
question of what to do about illegal immigrants.
The real ways to address the "sypmtoms of the issue" have more to do with
dealing with the causes of the issue. The primary cause is a lack of
economic opportunity in many places outside the United States.
