I'm currently on my way to my local American Legion. I do this every June 6Th. I will be buying a couple rounds for the entire bar( vets only) and lunch for whomever served in WW2.
Today marks the anniversary of one of the most courageous events in world history, it marks the day we invaded France to free them of the oppression of occupying Nazi Germany.
The courage it took to storm those beaches is completely beyond my comprehension..the sacrifice made by soldiers on that day was epic and monumental and not only us, but the free thinking/speaking world is and always will be eternally indebted to them for their actions and sacrifices.
I strongly encourage anyone who enjoys their freedoms( no matter your political bend) to take the time to thank a Vet for providing that for you. If not for their unbelievable courage we would probably all be speaking German right now.
To the courageous men and women who helped to make the D-Day invasions a success and to ALL vets who have sacrificed so that we may speak or minds and live our lives without fear of retribution, I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for making this existence a reality.

  Sincerely,

  C. E. Woodford
