Another item that needs to be injected into the discussion is "Initiative
and Referendum" which is one way to enable the people's voice to overrule
those who profess to represent them.  While the connected hate it, it does
force the politically correct and power structures to take notice and to
create by the approval process a great deal of discussion on hot items.  I
have for years believed that the public, given the facts, will sort out the
options and come to a logical and thoughtful conclusion.  It has worked in
the Township form of government for years including the power vested in the
body to vote to raise their own taxes for good of the entity.
