I hope I didn't confuse people with the notice on the upcoming
forum being put on by the League of Women Voters, this does not have
anything to do with the proposal to move Winona Forum. I should have
changed the subject line. I hope many consider coming to this and
join us in the question, answer, discussion period.

Forum and Discussion - October 30, 2007
Call to ACTION: A Community Forum on Building a Safer,
More Compassionate World
Join us in a Community Dialogue on addressing strategies for
countering terrorism. Your voice can be added to building safer
communities in the world.
When: Tuesday October 30, at 7:00 pm
Where: Winona City Hall Council Chambers.
Local cable companies (HBCI & CHARTER Government ACCESS Channels)
will broadcast live.
Forum Moderator: Vivian Jenkins Nelsen, Minnesota League of Women
Voters Co-President
Panel Members: Kevin Kearney, Neighborhood Watch, City of Winona
Police Department; Dwayne Voegeli, Winona County Commissioner; Fatima
Said, Director of Project FINE; Alex Hines, Director of the Inclusion
and Diversity Office, Winona State University.
The panel will provide a worldview of actions that are local steps
to counterterrorism. Members of the audience are welcome to become
involved in this dialogue during the questions and answers. Following
the one hour live Cable TV community broadcast, those present will be
asked to respond to a short evaluation and share additional ideas for
local action. Come and add your voice. The Winona Community can
contribute to the efforts of counterterrorism beyond governmental
policies and actions.
Sponsored by Winona County Emergency Preparedness Committee (a
collaborative of Winona County, City of Winona, City of Goodview,
Winona State University, Winona Chapter of the American Red Cross,
Saint Mary?s University, United Way, Winona Amateur Radio Club, Winona
Area Public Schools, Winona Health and many other local Public Safety
First Responder Units) and Project FINE.
